Reverend Deon White, a native of Chicago, IL accepted his call and was vested the gift to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1988. Rev. White was a member of Home of Life Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, IL, under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Henderson, at that time.  Rev. White preached his first sermon in 1990, after sitting under his pastor and attending several biblical classes to further his training and teaching.  Rev. Deon White was licensed in 1993 and ordained in 2002 by Pastor Johnny Henderson; he then became an Associate Minister at Home of Life Baptist Church, where he served faithfully.

At the age of 29, he was commissioned to serve as interim pastor for Greater Shiloh Baptist Church Chicago, IL. During his tenure there the Lord added more than 100 members to the ministry and later they were able to make a smooth transition when the ministry appointed a permanent pastor.

After his interim tenure at Greater Shiloh, Pastor White accepted the call to Pastor Greater Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.  Within the first 3 years of service, God allowed the ministry to grow from 125 to over 300 members.   On one Sunday, the church received 55 new converts for the Lord.  Over the course of several years at GMP, the membership had grown to over 1000 souls.  Under Pastor White’s leadership and ultimately the grace of God, several ministries were birthed within the church; a praise team that went on to record 13 songs, praise dancers, intercessory team, drama ministry, women's ministry, men's ministry, youth choir, adult choir, as well as others.   In January 2009, Pastor White’s tenure with Greater Mt. Pleasant was complete and he resigned. Although sadness was in his heart, he had to be obedient and follow the voice of the Lord. 

Since that time, Rev. Deon White has been listening to the voice of the Lord and has followed the guidance of the Lord to organize Anointed Birth Ministries.  Anointed Birth is a new age ministry rooted and grounded in the Word of God and with Jesus as the foundation, it will continue to grow. Rev. Deon White served at Anointed Birth Ministries for 6 years before an unfortunate incident happened and Rev Deon White had to undergo surgery on both knees. Being unable to walk, Rev. Deon White had no other choice but to close the doors to Anointed Birth Ministries for recovery purposes.

On October 29, 2017, Rev. Deon White was appointed Pastor of the Light House Baptist Church. Rev. Deon White is honored to carry on the work of the Kingdom, as well as, the vision of Light House that was set forth by the honorable Bishop Jerry D. Goodloe. It is by faith, determination, discipline, and dedication, Rev Deon White has taken on the assignment to present the Glory of the Lord in the Spirit of Excellence throughout the world.

Pastor White’s formal education was received from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL and Triton College, River Grove, IL.   Pastor White received his ministry training at Moody Bible Institute, Chicago IL., and GMOR Bible Institute, Northwestern, IN, under the leadership of Dr. Carl Davis. He studied Theology and experienced some of the best training in seminary.  Pastor White was also an active member of the Westside Minister’s Association, under the leadership of Pastor George Henderson. 

Rev. White is still a student of the word and to the Elders in the gospel who are preaching and teaching the unadulterated word of God! He continues to seek counsel first and always from the Lord! Pastor White believes and often quotes this phrase “Everything I was, everything I am, and everything I will become is simply because God favors my life”.
