Purpose

The purpose of the Lighthouse Baptist Church is to share the gospel with all peoples and to lead them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and into active Church membership. The Church’s further purpose is to teach the Bible, to educate and train the members of the Church in applying the Bible to their everyday lives and to assist them in growing in grace, knowledge, commitment, and service to God. To minister to those in spiritual, emotional, physical, material or relational need in the Church and the community.

Declaration of Faith

The Lighthouse Baptist Church subscribes to the following Articles of Faith:

1.  We believe in the God revealed to us by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

2. We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testament were given by the inspiration of God and are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

3. We believe that man was made in the image of God, but that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

4. We believe that God does not will the death of the sinner, but rather that he should turn from his wickedness and that Christ came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.

5. We believe that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

6. We believe that through faith we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

7. We believe that the Spirit, Himself, bears witness with our Spirit; that we are the children of God.

8. We believe that we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in us to will and do His good pleasure.

9. We believe that we should love the lord, our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind, and with all our strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves.

10. We believe that they who received the word at the first were immersed, and the members of Christ’s Church should be buried with Him, by immersion into death, that like Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

11.  We believe that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed, took bread and the cup and gave thanks to His disciples: and that as often as we eat the bread and drink the cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

12. We believe that we should make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever Jesus commands us.

13. We believe that righteousness shall cover the earth as the water covers the sea; that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God, the Father.

14. We believe that the last enemy to be destroyed is death, and the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and shall come forth; they that have done good unto resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of Judgment.
