Men’s Ministry

All men are members of the men’s ministry. The men of Light House work to develop a positive impact on the church members, their families and the community. They endeavor to present positive role models to our youth and to be active followers of Jesus Christ. Activities during the year include; an annual bowling event, basketball games between older men (old school) and the youth (new school) in the church, cookouts and completing projects around the church etc. The year culminates with the Men’s Day program on the fourth Sunday in July each year.

Music Ministry

Music has been an integral part of Light House Baptist Church from the church’s founding in 1962 when Bishop Goodloe established the Gospel Choir consisting of five members.  From those humble beings the choir grew.  Bishop Goodloe was also able to develop a Young Adult Inspirational choir in 1968 and later an Angelic Choir.

Our Evangelical Concert Choir achieved phenomenal success recording the album “I Can Go to God in Prayer” with the Queen of Gospel Albertina Walker. This album rose to the number three slot on the national charts. The Choir’s second album “Tell it to Jesus’ was also a major success. Bishop Goodloe and the Concert Choir traveled thought out the United States delighting audiences and uplifting their lives and spirits through the power of song and God’s word. Our music ministry today continues to uplift the human spirit through the power of music.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry was started as a means of bringing the youth of the church together in order in to develop their spiritual growth and to involve them in church activities and community outreach. The youth sponsored basketball games, pizza and movies outings, bowling and comedy shows at the church. The basketball outreach expanded and many other churches joined this fellowship. The youth also developed an annual 3-5 day youth revival which is conducted by a youth minister.
